Where the name comes from
Marmande is a town in south-west France whose name is inseparable from a tomato. That is where Marmanda comes from, and that is where the project comes from.
The name carries a real story without locking the product into a single vegetable. For anyone who misses the reference, it stays a soft, easy brand to carry outside France.
What we believe
A gardening tool has to be honest. When data is missing, saying so beats producing a reassuring number that happens to be wrong.
A gardening tool also has to be enjoyable. People come back to a tool because they love their hobby and because the tool does that pleasure justice.
A small product can still be complete. Marmanda isn't trying to become a platform: it is trying to be genuinely good at one thing.
How it's built
Every agronomic fact on screen comes from an identified, versioned source with its date, conditions and limits. Nothing is guessed to fill a gap.
The product is entirely self-service: no sales demo, no manual onboarding, no contract to negotiate. You create an account and you garden.
